|
Sizes: Small, Medium, Large,
Finished size: 12" X 45"(47",50")around
Gauge: 4 sts and 5 rows = 1” Keyplate 3dot, Bulky: Tension 6.
Materials: baby, sport, worsted weight yarn.. (2.5 to 3 ozs.)
250 -300 yds.
Sample was knit using 2 balls Stacy Charles "Ritratto" yarn.
A thin slighly fuzzy, slightly metallic yarn. We recommend using a
baby or sport weight yarn for a summery effect. Of course you could
use any yarn to get gauge for a thicker, or thinner shoulderette.

- With waste
yarn, open cast on 55 sts. Knit a few rows, then change to main
yarn. Row counter at zeros.
- Knit to row
counter 95(100,120).
- Do not cut
yarn. Drop main yarn and knit a few rows with waste yarn,
or put stitches on a garter bar.
- Remove stitches from machine,
turn so right side faces you and rehang stitches on machine below waste yarn.
Remove waste yarn.
- Set row counter
to zeros. Move carriage to side of knitting yarn. Knit to row
counter 95(100,120). *
- Repeat steps 3
and 4.
- Push these
stitches back behind the latches.
- Pick up the
beginning of the piece with the waste yarn attached. Holding the piece
out straight, give it a turn so that it twists once. The wrong side of
the beginning knitting should now be facing you.
- Hang these
stitches above the waste yarn on the same needles as before.
- Manually knit
back stitches onto front stithces. Bind off loosely so piece does not
gather.
- Lay piece flat
and twist shulderette in front where the yarn changed from knit side to wrong
side. Seam is in back.
*
Fit tip: You can make this piece to fit
snug or loose to drape over the shoulders. After knitting piece with
waste yarn, remove from machine and wrap around your shoulders, if it is
too tight knit more rows; too loose, rip out some rows. Then finish
as above. |
