Felted Pillow with novelty yarn 12" X 12"

Materials: 275yards/4 oz. worsted wool yarn. 170 yds, novelty yarn.
Gauge: 35. sts and 4.5 rows = 1" before felting.
Keyplate 4 or highest tension.
Note: Gauge is not important.

Ewrap cast on 50 sts with wool yarn.
Knit 2 rows.
Set row counter at zeros, add novelty yarn and knit 85 rows with both yarns together.
Cut novelty yarn and knit another 85 rows with wool yarn only.
Bind off.
Sew side seams.
Weave in all ends.

Pillow measures approximately 13" X 16".Place pillow in a pillowcase and tie closed.
Set washer to hot wash and small load.
Add a drop of dish washing liquid or detergent. Place pillow in washer and wash for longest setting. Check pillow, if not felted sufficiently, reset washer. When felted, spin rinse and remove from machine. Shape if necessary to make square. Let dry. Stuff with pillow form and sew bottom shut.
The pillow shown was knit with 2 Skeins Cascade 220 black wool and 1 ball Eros Yarn by Plymouth.
